Compliance Test Suite (CTS) for Serial Attached SCSI

LeCroy's Compliance Test Suite (CTS) is designed to uncover latent Serial Attached SCSI compliance problems before a device or system enters production. Jointly developed with the University of New Hampshire Interoperability Labs (UNH-IOL), this comprehensive library is designed to work with the SASTrainer™ Serial Attached SCSI bus exerciser.

LeCroy's Compliance Test Suite (CTS) is designed to uncover latent Serial Attached SCSI compliance problems before a device or system enters production. Jointly developed with the University of New Hampshire Interoperability Labs (UNH-IOL), this comprehensive library is designed to work with the SASTrainer™ Serial Attached SCSI bus exerciser.

The CTS software includes specific scripts for testing initiator, target and expander device compliance. The test suite addresses portions of the protocol that establish connections, perform discovery, manage arbitration as well as perform error recovery at the SSP transport layer.

This CTS software is available at no cost to registered users of the LeCroy SASTrainer Exerciser platform. The test suite includes source code which allows developers to adapt this substantial test bed to create custom scripts for their own specific applications.

SAS Auditor from Expert Analytical Systems
The Auditor software application is a post processing analysis tool developed by Expert Analytical Systems in cooperation with LeCroy. Designed to work with LeCroy's SASTracer analyzer, the Auditor software can be configured to automatically perform architectural compliance assessment on the contents of a trace file captured by LeCroy's analyzers. This automated tool significantly accelerates engineering qualification as well as regression testing of SAS silicon, firmware, software and subsystems.

The Auditor software application is a post processing analysis tool developed by Expert Analytical Systems in cooperation with LeCroy's Protocol Solutions Group (formerly CATC). Designed to work with the LeCroy SASTracer™ and FCTracer™ analyzers, the Auditor software can be configured to automatically perform architectural compliance assessment on the contents of a trace file captured by LeCroy's SAS and Fibre Channel analyzers. This automated tool significantly accelerates engineering qualification as well as regression testing of SAS and Fibre Channel silicon, firmware, software and subsystems.

The Auditor software uses a 'rules' based verification engine developed using the architectural documents within the standard to provide a clear Pass/Fail analysis for numerous aspects of operational behavior and compliance at the logical level. It generates a series of reports that evaluate and highlight possible issues at the PHY, Link, Transport, and application layers.

The Auditor software can be opened from within LeCroy's SASTracer and FCTracer software environments with a few keystrokes. It can selectively verify traffic between up to 4 source or destination addresses and provides a systematic and repeatable assessment of compliance that significantly reduces the amount of detailed architectural knowledge that you require.

The Auditor test suite can be customized to verify user specified subsets of rules. Individual rule-sets can be hidden from the reports to narrow the scope of the analysis. In addition to architectural compliance, the Auditor software provides a number of protocol specific thresholds that can be manually set by you including command completion times and link layer timeouts values.

FC-Auditor™ Contains:

• Base FC Software*: provides analysis of FC-FS v1.7, layers FC1 and FC2 (Class-3). In addition; the Base software also provides limited FCAL and FCP analysis sufficient to analyze traffic from an HBA on a switch to a drive on a loop.
• FC-AL-2 Module: this optional module provides full analysis of FC-AL-2 v7.0, including detailed analysis of the LPSM.
• FCP Module: this optional module provides full analysis of FCP-2 v 8.0.

SAS-Auditor Contains:

• Base SAS Software*: provides Serial Attached SCSI PHY+ SSP Link/Port layer; SSP Transport layer tests; the base software provides some limited SCSI Application layer analysis
• SMP and Expander Module: this optional module provides Expander protocol analysis; SMP Link/Port and Transport; additional SMP Management Application layer tests
• STP Module: this optional module provides STP Link/Port + Transport layer tests
